For those of you who use the M3/M27 at weekends, you should be aware that there will be three weekends when the M27 will be completely closed in both directions. The first closure will be from Friday 28 September to Monday 1st October.
The closures are to allow Highways England to replace the Romsey Road bridge on the A3057 that spans the M27 in both directions between junctions 3 and 4. The current bridge is made up of two individual bridges, and will be demolished in stages.
22:00 Friday 28 September until 05:00 Monday 1 October 2018 for the demolition of the first bridge
22:00 Friday 26 April until 05:00 Monday 29 April 2019 for the new bridge installation
22:00 Friday 18 October until 05:00 Monday 21 October 2019 for the demolition of the second bridge
During the weekend closures, there will be two signed motorway diversions. One diversion will be for cars and a second for high-sided vehicles. Full details of the routes can be found here.
