FLYTIPPING WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND A FLYTIP
DO NOT touch the waste - waste can be dangerous
DO NOT open any black bags, boxes or containers
DO NOT disturb the site: there may be evidence which could lead to prosecution
DO NOT remove anything from the fly-tip site
DO remember fly tippers are committing a crime and they do not want to be caught, do not approach them
DO visually inspect the waste, try to determine what the waste consists of and how much there is
DO take note of its exact location, or the nearest landmark
TYPES OF INFORMATION WE NEED
• Day, date and time of the incident
• Make, model, colour and registration number of vehicle involved
• How much was dumped, eg. black sacks, car boot load, van load
• What was being fly-tipped, eg. household waste, garden rubbish, broken furniture, white goods
• How many people were involved and what they look like
PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOURSELF AT ANY RISK IF YOU WITNESS AN INCIDENT
