A message from Winchester City Council

HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 10 June 1921 - 9 April 2021
Friday 9 April 2021 Dear Parish Clerk, I’m sure you are aware of the news today that His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh, has sadly passed away. Please find our full statement here. A virtual Book of Condolence is available online on the Buckingham Palace webpages to capture thoughts and memories of the late Duke of Edinburgh, and messages of sympathy to the Royal Family. The Mayor of Winchester will lay a wreath at Abbey House on Saturday 10 April at midday on behalf of all residents of the district. And, I am sure you have seen on national guidance that residents are encouraged to make a contribution to a charity supported by the Royal Family, if they wish, in tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh rather than lay flowers.
